Southern Flavor - Blues

Author Comments

Just hanging around with some friends, we did a blues session and recorded a part of it. Here it is.

It's one classical guitar, one electric guitar, having a great time.

Enjoy, leave comments!

Jazzed of blues.

Nice Guitar work. What gear did you use and what did you play.

thecoreman responds:

Thanks, man. We just jammed around, not a whole lot of planning around it. If you want to know exactly what we played, it starts with Gm7 | C, that's the slow part. Then comes the fast part which is just normal blues chords (G7 | C7 | D7), with one lick that we did together in the middle of the fast part.

Gear - My lame-old, yet-very-lovable-and-has-a-sense-of-h omecoming-every-time-I-play-it Classical guitar (Montana cg150). Electric work is my fake made-in-Indonesia Squire Fender Strartocaster (not even a model that Squire Fender created but What The Hell). Amp - Fender Frontman 15R. Recorded with the PodCastudio USB.

Thanks for the review, hope that answers your questions.

Pretty nice

It's nice, nothing to call home about. I'm a musician too though, and I know blues is amazing but yall should explore some theory, because blues is just a 1-4-5 progression. It really gets amazing once you get to things like chord inversions, I can create a song with 16 different chords, based off of 2 chords.

But still great style. Not the note choice I would use over the chords but it's in key. Maybe it sounded better to you ^^. But hey ever since I got so deep into music I started getting picky... dont we all.

Keep playing. Just a tip though, give a small break between your solos, and put some emphasis on different notes instead of having it one continouse leggato stream. It would add to the feel. It's not wimpy to be slow, not stupid to be fast, but it's creative to use both.

Anywho I liked it.

Thanks for all of the great advice mate, I'll take it into consideration. I'm learning theory ATM myself, and you probably know that it's not overnight. I'm glad that you enjoyed it, big ups!

What do you play? Because we could record and send stuff to each other, it's great, I did it with Bloodfest and we made "Saturday Mornin' Blues" which you can see in my account.

Anyway, PM me if interested. Thanks for the 10 score!
