But, I get the feeling it might sound even better if you double the time in between the opening chords. Stick more of a break in between.

And the rock-a-billy shuffle beat... Dunno if it really fits that well. Rock tends to have straight eighths as a beat. Boring, yes, but a lot can be done to tweak it.
