Eternal in Their Absence

This was the last song on my EP, When Shovel Tortures Pole. It doesn't fit neatly into any genre of music, but if you have any suggestions, feel free to share them. I put a lot of work into this, so you'd better fucking enjoy it.

such a pretty song :D

Really a lovely song. I like how the original piano tune is somewhat consistent. There are repeats, but not enough to be boring. This tells a wonderful story, and it shifts pretty smoothly.

I'm glad you were able to enjoy the story I was trying to tell with this song. I put a lot of effort into trying to give that feeling and tell the story without using any words. My thoughts at the time could not be fully expressed any other way.

Disappointed, yet still good

Idk...i was hoping for a very nice piano tune. And i would've liked it to have gone on longer, but it's ok. I personally thought the snare transition from the piano section was a detriment, but then again when i think over it, I can't even think of any other way I could've done that transition effectively.

So all else aside, I definitely enjoyed a lot of the synthesizer riffs. And I couldn't tell whether or not you just quieted the piano part or whether it wasn't going in the main part of the song. But i like that you came back to it in the end. A solid piece of work, my friend. Keep doin' whatcha' do.

Man, that is relaxing. Starts with a nice, simple melody; goes into its main rhythm; and pretty much cruises right there. Until the end, that is. The end really made it meaningful.

Very nice!

Dude, that percussion beat is so funky, I think my brain exploded. The key loop is pretty flippin' rad too. The ending is cool! At 4:54, it goes back to just the beautiful piano solo at the beginning, and has that smooth ritardando at the end. All around great!

KidneyBeanClock responds:

Thanks. I've been putting a lot of emphasis on my drum tracks lately and I'm glad you like how they are turning out.

It gets you hooked in the first half-minute.

It gets you listening real fast and your ears are on it for the rest of the song.
