Hey everyone.

The full quality of this will be on my Sound Station because I can't upload 12 MBs here.

So this is my first try at Progressive Trance. This is also my first go with side chaining. Nothing really to say about this song. Worked on it for about a week. Took forever to get done, because halfway through it my comp crashed and I hadn't saved, so I had 3 hours of work to do over. Quite frustrating. A shitload of audio clips and automation clips were used in this song as well. I got a lot of inspiration from my good friend Pulstate (http://pulstate.newgroun ds.com/) remove any spaces.

Thanks for listening! Be sure to tell me what you think!

i like

b4 the melo starts to rise in, with just the bass and drums, it has an odd retro feel to it, its nice

i still see your keepin the ambientness in your trance

theres somthin about this one though, its not as good as your other ones, but i dont really know why

heartless1298 responds:

Hey, thanks and all, but remember this is only my first progressive Trance song. More to come, my friend.

Dood if this is ur first try at sidechaining I have a lazer sword under my bed.

Great song!

heartless1298 responds:

Haha, thanks!! And it really was my first time sidechaining anything.

pretty good

Track starts off nice, decent sidechaining there. I'd add a little bit of reverb to the clap, the ending is very abrupt and the stereo width it has only accentuates that. The bassline is very smooth.. maybe too smooth? I'd give it a more rhythmic quality perhaps, play around with filters and maybe layer it with a different waveform with more harmonics. The plucky synth is alright, you back it up with some atmospheric pads to bring out the strength of the melody. The first drop is good, if you cleaned it up a bit I could see some deadmau5 vibes going. You probably shouldn't attempt the key change at 3:24, it doesn't transition well. Switching things up is key, but you have to be careful to not destroy the momentum of the song by making things too abrupt.

There are a couple things missing and you could definitely clean it up a bit, but you've got the basic ideas and with no time you'll be a pro at this ;) Keep it up my friend.

heartless1298 responds:

Thanks a lot for the advice! It's an honor to get a review from you!
