Epic Flashback - MegaMan Remix (Flash Man Theme)

Author Comments

A remix of "Flash Man's Theme" from "Mega Man 2" on NES.

In case you are wondering, this is the song that plays during Flash Man's Stage.

I'm pretty sure this is one of the top 10 most remixed Video Game songs in history, along with Dr. Wily Stage 2 and Gerudo Valley. With that bit of insight, it's only appropriate as a musician that I also make my own mix of the song

"Truly Lives Up to its name"

It is very rare that I end up spellbound by a remix, but to literally have my breath caught up in my chest and feel a chill down my spine from a remix is even rarer. You managed to achieve both with this remix. It might be the beauty of it. It might be the soothing quality. It might even be both. But the fact remains that my mind and body were spellbound, and continue to be spellbound every time I listen.

You managed to take Flash Man's stage theme, and change it into the musical version of the Time Stopper. I prefer the instrumental set you used for your remix to "Nuclear Flash" on OCR (which I notice you recommended); yours seems to fit better to me for some reason that I still haven't quite put my finger on.

I may have had my one of my other friends comment for me once upon a time, but I still stand behind that comment--It truly lives up to the name 'Epic Flashback'. 10/10

BallinFatty responds:

sorry this is so late. didnt see it here until today. wow. ive never heard a comment like that before. especially to a song i made back in 08. now 4 years later, i listen to this, and im not as impressed with it now as much as i was when i created it. because i've grown and learn new tricks and whatnot. however from you saying that its better than an OCR track... that means a lot. altho i disagree, im glad you think that. everyone is entitled to their own opinion. i have nothing against you for liking my track more than an OCR track. thanks for the review, 10, and your time in listening!!

Incredible.

FreeSpiritedHizoku on DA reffered me to this, and I'm glad she did. This is the most incredible remix of my favorite MM2 song! :D

BallinFatty responds:

thanks. if u havent heard the version by Zircon & Sixto Sounds on OCR, check that out. if you thought this was good, listen to that one. It might even be here on NG.

yea, i think i did just speak of a better version of my own song in the review to my own song XD

thanks for your review, 10, and your time in listening!!

Truly an Epic Flashback.

My friend, who does not have a Newgrounds account, wanted to comment on this, and says:

It truly lives up to the name 'Epic Flashback'. I was taken aback by its beauty and its soothing quality.

BallinFatty responds:

nice!! thanks to friend for comment and score, if that was also theirs
:D

Nicely Done

Very good remix of Flash Man's theme...I love it! One thing this song could use is more depth by adding effects to the instruments and usually slower ambiance songs have background effects, etc.. I hope that you keep the file for this one, because trust me, if you revisit this in two years when you've learned some more quirks and techniques, you'll be surprised how much better you can make it sound.

But the composition is totally awesome. Very nicely done!

BallinFatty responds:

thanks for the advice

i totally forgot about the effects. i had some but i didnt even think about going to use them

i'll remember that

thanks again for review and 8!!
