I love it!
Makes me wish I knew how to make music.
Normally I'd say that techno doesn't fuse well with modern rock, but hell you did a great job with it! While it was slightly repetitive at parts, it was constantly enjoyable to listen to. Keep it up!
Thanks for the positive feedback KaptanKrunch92. I'm still surprised at how many people ended up liking this song, but I suppose everyone is always their own worst critic eh?
Complex is right.
I can hear like 3 different guitar parts at any given time, along with who knows how many drums, synths, and what not. I can't imagine why you wouldn't be satisfied with it. This makes me ashamed to have a song that's higher than this in the general rock category. This is infinitely better.
I appreciate the kind words. Guess i'm not happy with it because when I was originally sitting down and putting this song together, I guess I had something else sort of set up in my mind on how I wanted this song to sound, but in the end it never really quite met my own expectations. I spent a week or two constantly messing around with it trying to get it to sound how I wanted. I couldn't, got pissed, said screw it, mastered it and then uploaded it haha.
As for my score? Who knows, people do like to zero bomb me for some reason, probably because all my songs start off slow and they aren't patient enough to listen to the whole thing. I'm not too interested in my global score anyways, it's individual reviews that matter to me, such as yours. So thank you :)
Thats a lot going on!
I actually like it but there may be a bit too much going on.
To start the guitar that comes in at 1:27 pretty much keeps the same tone and gets a bit bland and repetative quickly . Seems like it should change pitch or something a bit just to give variation.
Also I am not sure how many drum layers you have going at once but from 1:10 to 1:25 it gets a bit crazy. I know you said your tired of working on this song but I think it could be much better with a little more work.
The drumming going on for the entire song is built from loops through addictive that were played by a real drummer. These in particular are funk based, which is why they've got a pretty hectic beat to them. It is indeed only a single drum layer.
I absolutely agree that the basic backing riff is repetitive, it was actually my basic goal for this particular song, the focus was to be more on ambient layering through synth and a climatic finale. The drone sound was one of the things I liked about it. I know not many folks like it which is why I said it'll be a love it or hate it thing :).
I can't be bothered to work with this song anymore, it's become one of those things were you fiddle with it so much and you're never happy with it that you lose all desire to work on it. I'd rather focus my energy on something new!
Anyways, your feedback is appreciated!
Not a big fan of techno, but you make it work for me buddy! Keep up the fantastic work!
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
