Embark on a journey; discover yourself...

I started this one off aiming for a mix of electronic and orchestral, but I turned into a more orchestral piece with some african drums. I love where it went, though. I used a different orchestral panning here: violins and violas opposite each other on the stage, cellos and basses further out but still opposite, and the woodwinds near the middle. I think it sounds sweet as is, but I may think on changing to a traditional orchestral panning. *shrug*. I think that I'm getting much better with the percussion as well, but any comments concerning that would be helpful.

Hope you guys like this one, I've put a lot of work into it.

Please vote fairly, thanks in advance for any comments.

Very nice song...I like the beat of it the most.

Very Well Done.

I have to say I found this piece by accident a bit when I was browsing links, but I'm very glad I did. It gives a nice mellow tone that lets one close the eyes and see inward through the glass of introspection to a bit of music that seems to encourage a personal journey in some strange ways. Having had some losses in my life recently with family passing away, this song comes very close to my heart and proves in its own right that one just has to keep on the path, on the journey, because really thats all we can do.

Perhaps I'm way off with personal inflection directing my views on some portions of the music, but then thats what I think music is all about. Very well done, keep it up.

Thanks for the review! I'm always excited to get different people's opinions and perceptions of my music. It's flattering, so thank you. Not really way off on your ideas there. I mean it's a journey through your mind. Blazing trails through emotional obstacles is spot on.

I hope to be updating this piece as I've got some new sample packs that will greatly enhance my older songs. If I upload an updated version, I'll be sure to PM you to let you know.

Thanks again for the review, I'm glad you liked the song.

Very nice piece.

Loved the ambient feel of the whole piece in general; in fact i've had it running for about 5 or 6 loops now and it still feels new each time.

At 1:14, the piece basically refreshes and may be the reason for this apparent ambience (note taken) :)

Of course, the synthetic sounds of woodwinds and strings hinder its true ability, but nonetheless a great song; would do nice in a hunting video-game of some sorts, thats what I pictured this whole time was a background song for a video-game.

Sorry for not getting to this sooner :(

SinJim responds:

Thanks for the review Flash. I'm glad you liked this one and I do agree that the quality of the samples is what holds it back. Over Christmas, /I'll be purchasing the EastWest Orchestra pack and I'll be redoing this, most likely. I'll let you know when I've got an updated track to see if it sounds better. Definitely a hunting-ish soundtrack.

Thanks again for reviewing, glad you liked this piece.

A piece of art.

The melody of it realy fits the name after some thought. I was immersed in the drums as it brought me the image of something wild but at the same time calm and with the help of the strings. The image of a jungle like forest came to my mind as the song went futher and futher, I could see a peaceful atmosphere formed. The way that the calmness is transformed to something more alive gave the feeling of transformation as if the life suddely came from a static landscape to a live one where animals were brought forth and resumed their lifes. The coming on the end when the woodwinds ceased and only the piano, I think, continued brought forth the continueation of the normal life on this scenario.
Indeed it's a very pleasent music to be heard by all ears i belive since it has such a calm and enchanting sweetness to it's progress and nothing out of the extraordinary which would bring a chaotic feeling. All my stars belong to you on this magnificent piece of your creation.

SinJim responds:

Thanks for the kind review, Tsumi. I really like it when people come up with images that my songs portray. I can compare it to the image that I had in mind and it's always flattering to here someone come up with a twist on what I had in mind.

I'm glad you liked this one and I'll give you a heads up if I come out with some more along these lines. Thanks again!

This is really great. Thats one of my FAVORITE things about music. You start with a direction in mind, and it takes you somewhere completely different.
The expansion of our minds on a compounded level, or something deep like that.

Anyways man, I really liked this. Very relaxing, everything went well together.
I kinda wished it was a little longer, but it was still pretty excellent.

Nice job. Sorry it took me so long to get on this.

Thanks for the comments. Yea, different minds go different places with the same starting point. I guess if creativity grabs you, you can't really complain.

I'll think about lengthening it, but I'm going to have to adjust the feeling and maybe have a different movement in the end. I dunno, I'll put it on my list of things to do (which is really long btw).

Thanks again for coming by and listening, I appreciate it. I'll be stopping by your profile soon to see if you've got anything new.
