Hmm, where do I start? This song has a lot of history. Well, for starters, this is my 28 song. (I currently have forty as of 10/27/08.) This song is my last song to use synth as a staple. From that point on, it was real instrument samples. This song was actually born out of the rage of having another song completely deleted after 3 days of work (A song that's still surprisingly clear in my memory.) I just said Fuck It and decided to make another battle song. As such, this song was completed in 1 night and 1 morning, which is pretty damn fast. Also, this song helped to usher in my orchestral side too, although it may not seem like it. In this song, I tried to emulate as many real instruments as I could. (the background low synth that pans back and forth is a double-bass emulation. It didn't turn out too well. Other instruments were just trying to achieve orchestral effects with non-orchestral instruments.) Anyway, I'm rambling. Just tell me what you think of it and enjoy.

epic

this mix would go great with a handheld FF game for the DS or GBA. with a prog like Logic Pro or GarageBand, this would have monumental potential. i can imagine te St. Germain fight from Castlevania: CoD to this.

Lol I played that game too! I didn't even think about that! I might do a classical remix of theis song some day, but there's so much stuff I want to do first that I may not get to that for a couple months. And I'm still tryna figure out how one of my best songs turned out to be this one, which I just rushed through in a fit of rage. Thanks for the review!

Nice.

I really like the energy in this! This could definitely be used in a video game of some sort =).

Criticism/Encouragement:
1. Beat = 7/10 - I didn't find the percussion quality so high and the crashes just SLAMMED the song so i would turn the crashes down.
2. Synths/Instruments = 9.5/10 - Really good. Some feel a little dry but that can be fixed with reveerb/echo.
3. Setup = 10/10 - The song keeps my attention the whole way through and really pulls me along with it. Nice setup =).
4. Melody's = 10/10 - Kickass. Like i said before I love the energy in this! Now that i think about it this could be in like a boss battle in a video game or somthing cause its pretty dark and aggressive.
5. Intro = 9.8/10 - It works pretty well but i felt something was missing for a smooth intro.
6. Ending = 9.8/10 - Same as intro since its a loop but i feel like maybe some kind of sound effect like a slicing sword or something could join them, make things really interesting =).
7. Overall = 8.9/10. (No i didn't join them all thats just what i think overall it is but ill round it to 9/10)

9/10
5/5

I really like this! I tried to be as strict as i could in my review but it was hard cause im just loving this! Keep it up!

blackattackbitch responds:

Thanks again, and I did find a way to improve the drums recently. I found that turning the bass drums higher and turning the tune down for all the samples really helps improve the drums, especially snare drums. (It's a glitch in FPC that allows me to do that.) Also, I stopped working with loops so I have a whole 'nother ordeal to deal with: ending a song the right way. I feel as though I screwed up with that on three of my latest songs, so I'm trying. And yeah, I need reverb very badly. I'm planning a major orchestral piece, so I'm gonna need it for that. And yeah, that crash was horrible. I think that this was the song where I actually needed to turn the crash down at the beginning to keep it from destroying the song. And about the aggressiveness, you're right. It was made for a boss battle in a video game. Thanks for the reviews. I'm taking this all into consideration.

Awesome

Seriously... this makes me feel like i'm kicking ass in an old video game..... instruments sound fake.... but that couldn't be cooler. The song has a ton of variety and an epic feel throughout. The song is simply amazing for 1 morning and 1 night of work. Good work.

5/5
10/10

blackattackbitch responds:

Thanks, yo. It's for people like you that I compose these things. Also, you can do some amazing things with a bit of rage and about a hundred ready-made samples. (Instruments sound fake because I suck at synthesizing. That's why I stopped doing it.) Imma keep puttin these tracks on here.
