What would spending an evening with an axe murderer be like ?

beautiful well done

great music! Its very entertaining to listen to. But I would like to hear a longer version though.

popraz responds:

Thank you ! Glad you liked it.

This would have to be, probably, one of the most unique things I've heard in a long time. The instruments you chose, and the way you make it seem like it's this sort of awkward fitting in with the "rest of the orchestra" (instead of fitting in with the rest of the world), and especially...at the end! I think this piece lives up to its name.

An awesome piece, I love it. I have to admit I wonder where you get all the synths for, about :45 in, the strings and wind instruments (or d'you make them?). And the EFFECTS! Like the vibration-sound around 1:30...amazingly placed. I like, I like.

popraz responds:

Thank you ! Well i've been poking around the internet searching for free soundfonts and i've found some good ones that I'm experimenting with now. Can't exactly remember the sites, but if you google "free soundfonts" you should come across them on the first page.

some ideas...

Hy there!

With this track the title was so strange that only itself had forced me to check this song out.

I think I got the main aim you wanted to get: to show a character who seems normal but underneath this mask there are demons/paranoia/mental illnes and it's like a vulcano with a stone obstacle on the top: the rage gathers, gathers and after a while when the stress is too much it blows...

The first half of the song is great - especially the woodwind section. I liked how you created a dark and sad atmosphere where the dark tension is hidden in the background. I liked the pizzicato strings after my opinion they are quite good in this way. Only the bass-pizzicato needs some more boost.

For me the second half was a bit out of energy for me. I liked the synth-sounds: they are like the start-signs of the madness but the orchestral hit (with some synth sound) are a bit too sudden - I think you should have build up more tension with the synth and string combination before the hit and than it would have a lot bigger impact.

Otherwise it's a good track - nice structure and good melodies and it serves the purpouse you've created it for.

popraz responds:

Thank you for the review and the advice. I'm still working on the bass pizzicato.

Reminds me a little of fable...

Mainly because of the bass, I'd say. When it picks up around :45 it really is very nice! This is great background music, good job.

The song certainly changes direction when the synth comes in - very dynamic. kind of an unnatural ending, but otherwise, awesome job.

popraz responds:

Thank you for the review. I was actually aiming for a satirical mood. Of course, by the end it gets serious, because a psycho with an axe is a serious thing.

Cool...It gave me a lonely, forsaken vibe

But it definitely also had some creepy undertones.

The pizzicato needed a little more treble, in my opinion, but aside from that...it was awesome!

The drums that come in shortly are sweet. Then the orchestral hit takes me completely off guard...did the axe murderer decided to strike?

Good job, 10/10....

popraz responds:

Thanks for the review. Yes, he decided to strike. Yeah, I feel the pizzicatos aren't sounding the way they should. I'll fix that, since I'm in a phase where I'm really fond of using them.
