Metal, Rock - General Rock

This song is a reworking of Ode to Dm. The two songs however are very different. I took all of you guys' advice on Ode to Dm so now you will find a number of melodies, which the other song lacked.

This song has 3 main parts.
Section 1: Synthesizer builds up to the guitar melody and the layers of texture increase

Section 2: A change in time signature to 12/8 (i love 12/8 btw) and new melodies are introduced.

section 3: This section contrasts the other 2 in that it is softer and slower and has a more ambient tonal quality.

The guitars were recorded in, everything else was done in Adobe audition and FL studio.

- Enjoy

Very Professional

Sounds like you would really hear this on the radio or some really BA game. Beginning made me feel like i was in a western movie (WTF? lol), Middle was f-ing awesome but a tad repetitive, and the End sorta mellowed me out which seems to complement the song. Because I was a little bored from section one I have to give you a 9. But keep up the great work man.

I always loved this style!!!!

As a Muse fan, I have to say "I LOVE THIS!!!", especially for the first part. What can I say, I'm a sucker for high pitched pedal points! Nice guitars, mostly solid production, might need a few more instruments and some more compression/distortion (nothing much) on the bass, in order to bring it forward in the mix.
I'd love to hear a complete song in this style from you! I think it'll be great! And if you're shy about your vocal parts, I would be glad to help you in any way you'd like. I know it when I see potential, cause I'm an Electrical Engineer. =)
If you need me, just PM me...

Firebalt responds:

Haha thanks. Yeah i'm still fairly newby at mixing, but practice makes perfect. Yeah I really love the whole disco/rock sort of thing, guitars over arpegiators and what not. So i'll definately be writing more of that stuff and i'll definately keep you in mind. Probably wont be soon as i'm going to enter the MAC this month.

you what this song reminds me of at the begining? Knights of Cydonia by MUSE... i really like this song great work, and the best this is... i cant find find any downside to the song...

Firebalt responds:

Cheers, I absolutely love MUSE, there is definately some Matt Bellamy inspired stuff in this song. This song was actually a composition for my Higher School Certificate (similar to the SAT's in America i think) and i got 93/100 in the Music course, so i'm pretty happy with that.

This is Relym from the Bitey Castle forum. It's awesome. The guitar is really original and I love the sound. The only problem I have with it is that in section 2 it gets slightly repetitive. Other than that, awesome job. Keep it up!
