This submission is for the D&B Time Signature contest. This submission is final.

The track is in 13 / 4 time, occasionally 13 / 8 time, and sometimes even 13 / 2 time. I count this in | 4 | 3 | 2 | 4 |, which is Hindustani tala, as opposed to the conventional | 4 | 4 | 5 |.
I chose a style close to liquid funk, which is a blend of smooth jazz and drum and bass.

noteworthy spots:
1:14 - exposition
3:14 - reference to something... guess away! :)
3:42 - more advanced chord progression kicks in
5:15 - breakdown

review if you dare!

Very nice!

Definitely unique. I tried to follow the beat, which I'm usually pretty good at, but I couldn't. I don't know about the others but I enjoy hearing odd time signatures. You found that balance that makes songs like this real interesting. Songs that use too much of it tend to sound convoluted, and end up sounding confusing just for the sake of being confusing. But I enjoyed this song. It was smooth and energetic. The solo is also pretty well written. You managed to make it not sound extremely mechanical. Trying to make an improvised sound can be difficult. So you definitely earned my 5.

I'm such a hypocritical piece a...

I really hate saying this but I have to take off points because the tracks a bit too experimental for me... I always hate people for saying "I didn't like this track because my musical palate does not like electronica/metal/any thing that is music" but for once I can relate to those guys... a little too overwhelming, GRANTED, if I listen to this again tomorrow I bet I'll love it a lot more ;)

keep on keeping on sir.

Good song.

I really liked how this turned out. The sax is smooth and flows through the whole song, although I wasn't very particular of the sound you used. The drums have enough variety so that they don't become boring halfway through the song, and that combined with the odd time signature gave them a wonderful and unique sound. The bassline and chords fit the mood perfectly, giving it a calm, relaxed feel. Great job!

Thanks for the review. Are there any better soundfonts for saxophone you'd suggest?
