This is mah entry for the MAC8 - June. This is the first MAC I've ever entered, but I had fun making the song, and will probably do it again next time!

This originally was filled with pathetic attempts of shoving my singing through a vocoder and hoping for the best, but I decided to just stick with a distant, Trance feel.

Picture for me, if you will...

00:00 - 00:14
War. You are injured and loosing blood. Your entire squadron has been eliminated and you are the only one left. Your tears mix with the rain down your face as your grieve for those lost, and dread your own terrible, inevitable fate. You think of your homeland, and loved one's back home. Who will remember you? Who will forget?

00:14 - 00:41
You hear voices in the distance, approaching. Your first thought is that the enemy have found you, and your mind goes into overdrive. Terrible images of your fallen comrades fill your mind as you scramble away from the voices. But you are too weak, and have no more hope for survival...

However, just as you close your eyes and wait for the worst, you pause. The approaching voices don't sound eager or amused as you expected. They sound worried and anxious, in a rush.

00:41 - 00:55
Then, with a sudden pang of elation, you realise that you recogninse one of the voices, and that it's not the enemy at all, but a rescue team sent in to evacuate your squadron! Your body is suddenly filled with newfounds streangth, and you shout to gain their attention.

As they approach however, your stomach sinks lower than the ground, as you remember that your are the last one from your unit, and that you will have to tell the families of the fallen what happened.

However, all thoughts of fear and sadness fade as you feel yourself lifted up by the rescue squad, and as they begin to take you to saftey, you feel the weight of extended conciousness on your eyelids. And with a final breath of relief, you pass out.

You dream of all the things in life worth fighting for. Your family, friends, country. You dream of all the little things that you take for granted, and how they now seem like such blessings.

01:39 - Finish
A rememberance for the fallen

I apologise for the upbeat and happy finish, but I honestly think it suits the story, and while it may be all jumpy and techno, the melody and chords are still the same sad notes as before...
