Is Art a Crime?

I have had the instrumental to this track lying around for a bit unfinished and I finally got an idea of what to do with it while I was watching Graf documentaries online early this morning. I put together this piece as a Progressive Hip-Hop track and then found some verses in one of my old rhymebooks that I played around with until they were in-line with my current style of wordplay and laid them in after the central theme. Toy bombers, Kings, Legends, and Graf pirates alike will understand this one. Taggers, maybe not so much, but there are two seperate cultures that claim "Graffiti" the word, the Artists, and the hacks, Forever T.O.Y. Kiddies. This is for the Artists.

Lyrics:

Simple slick cyclical,
Slip sniffle in sick stipple,
Dimple dots and a dash in six fuckin' syllables,
Bic fillable wit ink spillable...
Fit a full stash of killable flippables.
I feel pitiful.

Rapid rap tragic attract addicts,
And fast sadists,
Collapse fadistic synapse magick,
With caps added.
I grasp at it,
I once had it but now saddened,
Flattened by the world spinning around Saturn!

Art is a part from the start,
And no chart toppin' start stoppin',
Dart poppin' .25 caliber artist,
Has heart to bar me from droppin' it smart.
So get a cart and collect these tarts,
Before I bury ya, Bart.

I'm that fast able,
Cats cradle blast cable,
Bomb artist with the tax table,
Smash fables and myths,
The Legends and Riffs,
The Skype or the skiff,
Ain't no tykes on my spliff,
T.O.Y. Boys remainin' stiff...

Dude

This would be an incredible intro to a mixtape or something. I love the build in this

I like this a lot man,

It kinda makes you reminiss about stuff rather than graffiti lol, drum loops sweet man.

clean

So smooth, progressive, meaningful, and slick. damn lyrics have my head spinning. good job

InGenius responds:

Thanks Helix, appreciate the review. This is actually a rearrangement of my lyrics, remix almost, of a track I did a bit ago that I didn't like, with the added progressive section and cutting out an alternating fast verse setup where I would spit 4 bars multi-syllabic, 4 bars double speed, 1 bar break, 4 multi, 4 double, and then chorus. I didn't like how the double came out, so I trashed it and started this project and like it alot better. Thanks again for the review.

Peace

damn.

You know, this is actually worthy of going on my favorites. And yes that is a major honor on your part. :] lol just messin with ya. But in all seriousness, great message, nice tune, very complex lyrics. Didn't know you were that good O_o 5/5 + favorited.

InGenius responds:

Appreciate it lucid. I can get complex sometimes, in both lyricism and instrumentals. It's somewhat a downfall on the popularity of both sometimes, as there are fewer listeners wanting that intellectual sound out there everyday, but I do try. Thanks for the review and favorite.

Peace

Graf Isnt Dying

Not bad!

InGenius responds:

Thanks...I wish you would have listened to the whole track before voting though. It is still playing for the first time through on my computer after uploading so I know you didn't listen long enough to hear what the message meant. It's about Graf artists dying on the lines, Graf being "killed" with jailtime, and art on the whole being killed by stifling legislation and silly gunplay beef. Not about Graf not being around anymore, it'll always be around even if it turns from Art to simple gang related tags and territory tags. Thanks for the vote and review.

Peace
