the drama is overwhelming! jk, but this really puts off a pensive feel after kicking some ass. here are my beefs:
throughout the song, namely for the harp, violin, and brass, i think you should try modulating velocity/volume so its more dynamic. also, for the violins, instead of making the next note always start up anew, try just bending teh pitch to let them flow into each other. makes for a more continuous experience.
i dont think there's a whole lot you can do about this, but the synthetic sound of the brass kinda ruins it for me. but ill accept it lol.
idk, i just feel like this could have been more touching but just wasn't. i think my first point, and maybe strengthening even more the climax might improve it, but idk. maybe some woodwinds? glockenspiel? :D
thats all i got for ya. nice job :)
Hey thanks for the tips man. I'll keep those in mind. Hell I'll probably start making more classical stuff now because this was kind of fun. :P
It had a very mediveal tone to it. The harps and epic sounds made it seem like you were going on a journey on a mountain or something. A good entry into the contest, but because 80% of them sound a lot like this... It might not win. The one to win will probably have vocals in them... and will be very original.
Great song overall though.
Like I said, this is my first classical song so of course it's not that good lol. Thanks for the review!
Kind of got that reflective sadness feel with this piece. Is that a french horn you used for the lead? Worked pretty well and sounded relatively real. The strings were pretty sweet but could have used a bit more in the bass end. You did an excellent job with the percussion and the harp at the beginning was awesome. I wanted the harp to come back in at some point.
For this being your first time in classical, you did an awesome job and it sounds great. The feeling of the song doesn't necessarily pull at your heart but it is definitely something that brings on a melancholy feel in remembrance. I think you did a good job and I'm not one for make-me-cry-I-cut-myself songs so I really enjoyed this.
Awesome job! Good luck in the contest!
Hey thanks for the good review. :D
If you're talking about the instrument that comes in after the strings then that was actually a trumpet. The one near the end of the song was an instrument just labeled as "brass ensemble" so I have no idea what that was lol.
Glad you liked it!
Worth of 5
I don't know how the hell score is so low . You got my 5
lol all of my scores are low so I'm not surprised. xD
Thanks for the review.
The medival sounds are really good man. Keep it up.
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
