Easy Listening - Classical

Author Comments

NOTE: Just a quick heads up! You may have to turn up the volume a bit on this one. It is a bit on the quiet side (Unless my speakers are simply terrible and/or broken).

Before someone inevitably asks, the answer is no; this is not Naruto. It isn't related to the song "Sadness and Sorrow" on Naruto, nor did I even watch the anime at the time I wrote this. That is a great song, but this is completely unrelated aside from the coincidental sharing of titles. :P

Now that we've got that out of the way, on to the actual commentary. I wrote this piece long ago, and I've come a long way musically since then. However, I have received several requests to remake this song. I've added a VERY simple intro, a nicer piano soundfont, some strings, and I've tweaked the volume in a few spots. I think it sounds a lot better, but you can compare if you'd like.

Anyhow, I look forward to your comments! I would love to know your opinion, how I might improve this, or even what you imagine as you listen to this music. I read and respond to every review, so don't shy away! XD

Thanks in advance, and enjoy. :)

PS. I really need a decent strings sample for free. I have been using the string soundfont that comes with the FL Studio demo, but I can't stand it anymore. Know of any good samples for free?

Perfect music title

It's just a wonderful song. I mean it just fits to the sadness of the plot in Power Star 4. It gave me the creeps. I couldn't stop to listen to this. But it's sad that it's so short... I'm loving it 'till the very last second keep it up!

P.S.: My friend is a hardstyle producer and is also producing some hiphop beats, maybe he can help you out with some good string samples but I don't know exactly, whether he has some good samples...

The title fits

I stumbled across this due to Power Star 4.. and the first thing to cross my mind is "who is the composer? I must know." i found you in the credits.. came here and listened to the whole song.
it is poetic and poignant. its simplistic nature only deepens the emotional sadness and i applaud you for this because this is actually VERY hard to do. instead of it just being singular notes, you were able to fixate very strong (passionate) chords amidst the stream but you didn't over do it. I especially like how they would indicate the phrasing and lead into the sadness.
I dunno if this is possible since i've never touched the program FL studio before but i would experiment having the strings do a tremolo and see if that darkens the mood any because (if i can be frank) the sustaining thing gets sort of boring.. and at some points i thought maybe the strings could take a partial moving line (but more of a bridge/connector) between the piano's pauses.
the only thing i especially do NOT like about this is the ending... because it makes me feel sad that the song was over rather than saddened by my past or whatever the listener envisions. sorry but, this was WAAY too short. this could've been something brilliant and i felt its glory was not given a chance.

on a side note. come talk to me about string soundfont samples. I'm sure i can help you find some and i believe i found something similar.. but not what u were looking for. I think you're a brilliant artist and i would really like to help you continue to advance in any way i can. ?t=1207535&highlight=

BlazingDragon responds:

I want to go into film music because of the very simplicity which you have mentioned. In film music, the focus is not on complicated chords or complex contrapuntal melody lines which dance about each other. Rather, it focuses on evoking an emotional response in the listener, and this is often executed with simple melodies.

This song was composed many years ago when I did not have much knowledge of writing music. I still do not have a great amount of knowledge, but I think that I could expand it. I might do so one day.

As for the soundfont, I have much better software which I have purchased. Thank you for reviewing.

I'm sure it wasn't your intention, but....

... I actually find it as inspiring. Not in like a creative way, but more on a purely personal level. I hear this, and I envision someone trying to defeat the darkness within themselves. Trying to overcome the evils that lay within them, and coming to terms with what they've done to others and can do nothing more than try to make up for it, all the while being taken over by sadness and regret. To me, it's a reminder. All that one can do badly to others will haunt them, and there's nothing you can do to fix it. It.... reminds me to bare my crosses and hold them dearly, for if I carry them to the end, one day, I might make everything better. Good work my friend.

BlazingDragon responds:

Your words inspire me greatly. I have recently gone through some trials in life, and they have brought sorrow and regret. However, I know that I can only look forward and bare my crosses. I am sad, but at the same time I have hope. I am pushing through the sadness and am becoming stronger in the process.

Thank you for reviewing.
