Well, this one is waaaaaay better than my other crap. I've never been too good at making crazy synths and leads, so I decided to make a DnB song to start out. I think it turned out pretty well. Kind of on the long side for a DnB, but much shorter than the Trance I was going for. I used 4 different synths in this, but 2 are for the background.

Influences: Progressive trance, DnB, Psy/Goa

Programs I used: FL Studio 8, Vanguard.

Please leave questions/comments/sugges tions! I'm just starting, so please help me learn to make stuff better :)

Hm.

I wouldn't call this drum n bass, and it's not on the long side for a DnB at all. I mean, it's a good song and all, it's just kind of repetitive, and I think at its length it could use more synths/melodies and diversity.

PS, I'm not even sure WHAT genre this is, but I know it's not DnB.
Overall good song though.

Death-9 responds:

Personally, I like the repetitive part, but I agree that lots of other good music changes over time. I'm not very good at layering synths, because they always come out poorly somehow :P

In response to your PS, DnB is the closest I could put it. It's some form of Breakbeat, in which DnB is inclusive. Since Newgrounds doesn't have Melodic Breakbeat as a genre, I'll have to stick with DnB for now

Thanks for the review-

Damn!

You're almost as good as me!
Nice song. A wee bit repetitive but a good melody.

Death-9 responds:

I am so obviously BETTER than you XD
Nah, I'm just playin

The melody was alright, I could have done better if I wanted to spend more time on it. Actually, it was what convinced me to name it "The Sleuth" :P
