This is an awesome melody you've got going on here bud.
I love the old-school-video-game feel to it. The one guy summed it up well by comparing it to Starcraft music... It just has that satisfying quality to it. Everything my mind expects to hear - the song delivers. There are no identifiably awkward moments to my ears.
But you've really gotta finish this one bud! Do not drop the instrument that starts at 0:10 seconds (the lead synth). It kinda holds the listeners hand and walks them through the song. The ever-evolving melody really makes it just a joy to listen to.
The only advise I can give for filling in the unfinished parts - just have that lead synth slowly get more and more aggressive. Maybe just have it gradually speed up into a solo of sorts. Then gradually lay it down into a fade-outro?
I'll be watching this one for updates for sure!
it had something going..
the kind of goodness that the starcraft music remind me.. but you stopped the "buildup" flat at 1:42.. a bit dull.
yeah, this teaches me to never post half-baked pieces here .
Nice song, but a little quiet and it feels like it's building up to something...But then it just stops...Thats the only problems I had with it...
You are absolutely correct =) I guess I considered it finished too early.
Here are some idea's
Well, The Drum Beat Is Good
Perhaps Some more instruments... or synth, have like an overall under beat, but then some other melody going over top, the one you have now, just does not seem to fill out the whole song.
If It Were Me, I personaly dont think that it is complete, I would add some kind of melody after the 45 second mark, cause there, it just seems empty.
Perhaps some guitar solo would be good after the 45 second mark. It also seems to repetitive. Some octave change or a speed up would be sick. What I like to do is to calm the music down a little, like taking out the drum beat for a little while, sort of like taking vowels out of a sentence, then to bring it back with a big bang and a lot more complex drumming, or more synth.
but that is just what I would do, this is a great song, hoped I help! :P, if you dont get what I mean, msg me or something.
Wow! Thanks for the great comment. Currently, my MIDI keyboard is not with me, but I'll get it in a couple of weeks and start playing with it. Thanks again for the comments, they are very clear and helpful ! I'll definitely try to implement them =)
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
