damn man this track is raw as hell. man keep it up. 1
I decided to do my own remix/interpretation of Sting's "Shape of my Heart"/Sting and Craig David's "Rise'n'Fall" track. Along the way a friend clued me into Pastor Troy's newest album and "For My Soldiers", also using the same source. Oh well, you're first, and then sometimes you're second...or third...or fourth, I think, in this case, since Nas also has this as a sample flip. Mine is not sampled, I reconstructed the notation, then added my own backing strings and drums, and came up with the simple structure here. But now I've quit improving it since it's such an overused concept piece...those are the breaks. Also, I was frustrated a bit because I couldn't find a pella of the chorus "I know the spades are the swords of the soldiers, I know the clubs are weapons of war"...and all of my EQ attempts with original and live versions of the track came out too garbled or noisy or sounded like distant stadium noise to use as a repeating chorus motif.
PS: Anybody that wants to spit to it, feel free. Since it's for promotional purposes only, I won't be holding onto it in anyway.

yeah
me and druid are jus spittin a set of 24 bars each with no hook no breaks. should be good. we were supposed to have it finished a while back, druid recorded it but his mixing and the amount of reverb he put onto the verse drove me crazy. but the final product should be real good.
i've heard both "Shape of My Heart" and "Rise'n'Fall" and i want druid and myself to be able to match them as best as we can skill-wise.
keep doin ya thing man!~

Good luck and I can't wait to hear it. I'm glad ya'll are pushing this one, it should turn out good. This track really was a learning process when I first took a shot at it, and it taught me alot about capturing the flair of a track, so I may make a couple more reinterpretation tracks. If I do, they'll be on NG since I can't sell 'em. Keep it pimpin'.

real real nice....i heard someone spittin on this
man love the beat man....i think someone sent me a track with em spittin on this too. it was tight but cant remember who it was...hmmmm....holla@chaboi
Yeah, that would be Druid. He's got Pop Rock puttin' in a chorus from what he tells me, and he's refining his spit on the track as we speak. I loved the melody when I heard the remix to "Rise'n'Fall" on some Euro dance album I dug out of my cd piles so I tracked down the original and then "Shape of My Heart" and started tabbing the guitar part. I gave up after 2 or 3 hours, but instead decided to recreate it in a track and here we are. Thanks for the review.

nice man
i love it bro i miss your beats man ya gotta chk out my newest songs
I know, I know I'm getting hassled about the lack of hip-hop tracks from me lately, believe me I got stuff in the works for NG. Look to the future, I got some crazy beats started as we speak, just nothing finished that isn't going out the door contracted. Thanks for the review, and I'll be hitting your tracks up in just a few minutes.

really man,
brillent man, just Brillent!ove this song! it is out there, and is somber, this is got a slick ass melody man,Love your shit man!
Thanks, though I can't take the credit for the melody since the main guitar is from Sting's "Shape of Your Heart"/Sting&Craig David's "Rise'n'Fall". I reinterpreted the backing harmonies and layered the drums to give it the vibe for hip-hop, but kept the somber overtones. Appreciate the review.
Peace
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
