Southern Flavor - Blues

A reflection on realizing much too late the potential one could've had if they'd only realized it in time to do it before their youth had begun to fade. It doesn't even matter how old you are, really - some kids are already old by the time they reach adulthood, childhood can be wasted in a number of ways. :-(

A fairly different sound for me - sad & soulful. I'm the type that generally "hears" the music before I play it, as I did with this - there is a version of it I can hear off in the distance of my mind in which there are lyrics. If I ever begin to hear them more clearly, I'll record that version as well. Would go very well with a voice like that of Michael Stipe or the guy who sings the Donnie Darko version of "Mad World".

I'm still learning, and sometimes this shows through my playing as a sort of subtle "awkwardness". Sometimes I can do something to smooth over it, sometimes I can't. This time, I could have, but I find that subtle quality adds to the intended feel of the piece - so I left it there, deliberately.

If anyone wants to add to it or play with it in some way, feel free to do so, you don't need to ask. Just let me know when you post it so I can give it a listen. Thanks! :-)

Love it

This is really really cool. Its really emotional and has a nice feel to it. A couple parts where if bit iffy with the piano, it just sounded a bit forced, but the vast majority was really really good. 5/5 and 10

check out my new song (piece) if you get a chance

Thanks! :-) I think that "forced" sound is my keyboard - it's a bit old, its touch-sensitivity function has been having issues lately. I could play this much more gently on a real piano, but haven't access to one. Which sucks. :-( But thanks for your comment! :-)
