It wasn't long before she had to question it.
The man she loved; his head always in his pages.
She tried disparately to dismantle him.
Pick up apart cell by cell.
He wouldn't budge.
He couldn't.

A notebook filled with sketched out scenes.
Spur of the moment ideas scrawled on bits of napkin.
They were shoved in at irregular intervals inside.
Underneath the pressed leather.
Recollections of acquaintances
Simple memories he was afraid he'd loose.
He didn't want his life to be so transparent.
What would you be with out memories and ideas.
He wouldn't budge.
He couldn't.

This was his place.

blah, blah, blah . . .

Lovely pianos.

Which is always a winner with me!
Also cool in the way that it really captures the emotion that you communicate through the story.
The beat is a little similar to your other one... "Sunlight Through Dusty Air", was it? :D kudos.

Lapse responds:

Piano's always nice, yeah. I'm glad ya diiiig.

Reviews On Paper

At 2:17, the beat changes almost into a somewhat, scattier version of the original mix. At this point, you see the man going through his notebook, wanting desperately for his life to have some thought and meaning to it.

In order for him to feel like he has something, he jots everything down. He wants to be able to remember everything.

OR maybe he was part of a crash or some form of illness which left him without much thought left. Brain cells not working the way they should? His memory shot?

This character could also be put into relation with the character of 'dorsal fin'. Or a take on after which. After 'dorsal fin' the relative of the titular character has had something of a nervous breakdown and as such cannot remember anything before his incident and now he tries attentively to piece together every bit of information regarding his life as possible. He wants to remember things, although his cannot.

That's my take on it.

Good song as well. Slightly jazzy at the beginning, but changes shortly afterwards to become more of an ambient track. I'm not saying to re-list it as ambient, because it isn't as ambient as some of your other works.

Yeah, i had intended on actually remixing this song to something different - instead i decided to mash the two pieces together, thought'd make for something more interesting to listen to. I liked the changes.

Yeah, it was just sort of about thoughts i've had. When i go to think back to a conversation i had...and how much of that conversation i could even remember. Me and a friend sitting down for some coffee somewhere and making chat. Choices of words, sentences..paragraphs completely unremembered. I've found myself lately not remember who i've saw this or that movie with and asking the person i did in fact see a film with "hey, you see such and such movie?" And they're like "uh, yeah, we went together..dur dur". Someone about my mother and her memory loss. How she tells me of things she used to remember and now it fails her. Things in her teen years. Then i try to think about stuff that happened when i was 13 or so, and it al sort of escapes me. I wondered what it'd be like to not have memories and thoughts. What would that be like? What would someone say for himself? Yet, then again, even though you may not remember the things that slowly shaped you as a person, your still changed. It almost feels unreal in a sense.

As always! Thanks for the vote. like i said, i'll probably file it under misc.

(oh yeah, and if you havent checked it out yet my newest song "moonlight through misty air" [which i feel is my best to date] you should check out, i think you'll like it! Mrah haha! I'm fishing for compliments! *laugh* )
