track 9 of 10 from Theotria
the finale of the story of Theotria. brought to you by humanity itself
shoutout to my friend, who goes by Nounbrain, who helped me greatly with writing the lyrics for this one! (they're not on NG)

lyrics:
attention, civilians
evacuate right now
hide yourself in your basement
shield yourself from the air
get inside
stay inside
close your eyes
prepare for
the finale
of the trilogy
the finale
of the trilogy
shattered with the power of U-235
scattered particles across the universe
never mattered if anything is still alive
so let the solar winds be our hearse
last message to the earth
death sweeps across the field
the mushroom rises in the sky
as the mantle blows off of the core
the finale
of the trilogy
the finale
of the trilogy
shattered with the power of U-235
scattered particles across the universe
never mattered if anything is still alive
so let the solar winds be our
let the solar winds be our
let the solar winds be our hearse
miniature sun exposed from underneath our feet
as the land from which we stand upon all now quickly depletes
and the ocean disappearing, mantle melting like Swiss cheese
and the core now rose, exposed, exfoliated by an Oppenheimer dream
the atmosphere fractured like glass as earth flies up to reach it
the creatures fly away, as the approaching light shall bleach them
and magma wraps around the earth, but rose up to the surface
a dozen billion faces all together showing "dear mankind, we've earned this"
as the valleys turn to mountains and the fields turn into hills
and the caves rise up to space as the creatures within are killed
and what sticks onto the mantle filled with spreading seismic lines
and as the earth begins to crack, we're reaching now the end of times
and the ocean's waste is falling past confining us to spots we stand
and acid rain baptizing all our crowded flocks who understand
that third time is the charm and it is here we can't pretend
we are all completely fucked and Planet Earth has reached its fucked up end
music nerd stuff:
this song is basically homage to king gizzard and the lizard wizard's heavier material with its switching time signatures, polymetres, chugging guitars and growling vocals.
the rhythm of this one was quite tricky. about half of the song is in what i'd call 5/5/8, so groups of 5 bars of 5/8. you could also look at is 25/8, but i don't think it's as helpful. the instrumental bridge after the second verse has this guitar phase thing going on, with the guitar on one side playing the riff in 5 and the guitar on the other side playing it in 6, they get more and more out of sync right until the moment they get back in sync again. the ending doesn't have much rhythmic fuckery, it's just really fast
the vocals were quite hard with this one, had to learn how to growl to record the chorus
lyrically, this song is as vivid as it gets on the album. the parts written by Nounbrain (especially the ending) go hard.
notably, this is the only song that features swearing on it and only the very end. thought it would be fitting
