[EDIT: I've decided to just call it pancakes since why not?]

Also I'm listing this as heavy metal since I listed What're You Looking at, PUNK?! as metal and nobody complained (despite there being literally no guitars here, just pianos)

also this is in 12/8 since I had a rhythm of 3 + 2 + 3 + 2 + 2 in my head at work one day

I'll probably update this track a little bit based on feedback :)

Okay so we have had Waffles, now it's time for Pancakes. I don't know how you did the rain sounding like sound effect, but I really like it. The piano with the heavy effects put on it sounds really nice and powerful, and the drums complement it well, although I feel like the open and closed hit hats don't really fit, at least sound wise, I'd just try it without them, or with a much lesser emphasis put on them (basically making them more quiet). I wouldn't say the first part is good, it definitely feels a bit too repetitive, with the same pattern being repeated over and over. I think it works better as just an introduction, where as here, at least to me it sounds like if it constantly wanted to go some where, but didn't. It's not bad, but it's not that great in my eyes either. The transition at 0:46 I quite like, although I feel like the more heavy sound does evade a bit too quickly, and maybe it could sound better if it stayed there for another two or three seconds. I really like the melody that's introduced around 1:14. I think the main melody instrument is a bit quiet, but other than that the middle part sounds great on it's own. I like how you spice things up with the drums, that change bit every bar. I definitely think that around 2:30 the mixing on the drums could have been much better. The feet / bass drum is way too loud when compared to the rest of the sounds. Overall I think there's some good ideas here, that especially shine near the middle part, but think that as a whole, even with the cool rhythm and very well made effects throughout the piece, it does fall apart a bit when it comes to the mixing especially on the drums and some other stuff I mentioned.

GlaceonDash responds:

The hi hats I agree looking in the past should have been quieter! This piece sadly ends up being what happens when Mauve has a cool rhythm idea but nothing more :(

Sorry for the slight disappointment! Though that could be one projecting onto you.

title idea: "Aksakana"

mix wise it's a little too honky and midrange-heavy for me, but i really like the broken triplet time! i feel like the drums are a bit quiet, especially in the highs, but that may just be because of the ridiculous midrange. the main melody also gets a bit repetitive after a while, i would have loved to hear some variation. lastly the part at 2:24 feels a bit empty; maybe some background element or saturation would help?

EDIT: the title idea's just a word that came to me while listening to this. i think the structure of the word reflects the irregular rhythm of the tune :) also the mix sounds much better now! i like the new bells too

GlaceonDash responds:

Repetitiveness is an issue of no ideas :(

I've implemented a little bit of stuff! But felt like keeping the mid-range around towards the end. Overall mid-range was lowered a ton since that seemed to be a recurring issue that I have.

I also added bells at the end since I liked how they sounded :D
[The bit at 2:24 I agree, but I liked the empty]

[Name Idea: ngl I have no idea what that means, but it sounds neat]

Thanks for the genuine feedback!
