Message from the creator:
Since I was very young, I had a particularly active imagination. I always enjoyed envisioning boss battles while listening to music, where every beat, note and sound corresponds to the attacks of the battle (kind of like the game Muse Dash). I wanted to make a track that I would imagine a boss battle to, so I made this track based on that idea.
I wanted to invoke the image of an unpredictable boss battle right in the arrangement, going for a Chiptune-esque start then immediately switching to Speedcore then transitioning into the dramatic verse section. I really liked the idea of momentarily switching to Glitch Hop for the Second drop to mimic the boss battle going into its 2nd phase, and to also drive home the video game-esque feel. And finally I thought it would be fitting for the climax of the track to be sort of a “jumpscare” because the track is called Heart Attack after all, and to give it that “boss going into another phase after you just barely survived with 1hp” type of vibe.
Initially I was hesitant on making this the first track for my album, because I felt like hitting my listeners with a genre so out of place with my entire discography at the time would turn some people off, but as I continued on with the album and the direction I wanted to take this project to became clearer, I realized that this track is the perfect start for the album.
Also MoistCr1tikal, I’m sorry for using your voice clip without asking for permission first, I hope you can let this slide lmao
