I've been playing Kingdom Hearts alot lately... mainly because I almost bought KH2 twice but the first time I didn't actually have money even though I should have and the second time they didn't have it. Frustrating. So I'm playing the first one again in anticipation for the second.

Anyhow back on subject. I got to Hollow Bastion a few days ago and I remembered how much I love the music to that level... So I decided to make a... um... remix of it.

And for all you people out there who claim to make "remixes", let me tell you this. I hand-programmed each and every note and wrote it down purely by memory. I wrote it all in only a few hours too, without having to listen to the original music at all. I did NOT import a midi, as I suspect many people do. And I put the song into my own personal style, which will easily be recognised especially towards the end. This is a true "remix," not the fake crap that I hear on this site all the time. It really pisses me of that people just import a midi file, call it a remix, then get a 4.5.

But anyhow, I hope you enjoy this! And please vote fairly!

Brilliant job with this - wish I could do half as well, haha. Great remix, very creative. Well done.

Anyone can write music if they are even slightly interested. Theory and everything is overrated. You won't need to learn Theory unless music is going to be your job. Then you'll be forced to write a "happy" song or something, and without theory it's tough to write without inspiration. The most important thing is to develop your ear. Take perfect pitch and perfect relative pitch training courses. They are far more valuable to the music hobbyist than spending days memorizing scales.

well, here's my two cents

It sounds to me it could be a lot better in techno-ish instruments

altough as it is, I did like it a lot, and you're right, I'm surprised of the amount of people that don't notice the MIDI factor

myxibrium responds:

I might remake this sometime with techno instruments. Good advice!

simply bad, don't know really why, maybe the choice of the instruments, it's simply boring. give you 2 starts because you've tried and took time to make it, it just sounds unprofessional

myxibrium responds:

I have to agree, actually. I repeated a lot more in this one than I usually do. I'm usually a lot more spastic. And the unprofessional part I agree with as well. Usually the notes sound very uniform in my music, but this time I tried to add a volume effect on a few instruments (gets softer/louder). This song was very experimental, but I guess I should stick with my old method. Thank you for your honest opinion, it has helped me out!

Not bad

i like Kingdom Hearts as well though i like the intro and ending music of both games, this is an impressive remix, you should be proud.

myxibrium responds:

I am but there are a few changes I want to make to it... I think I can improve it. But thank you! I may be doing more remixes like this in the future.
