It reminds me so much of....
Well, you should know what I'm about to say. Obviously it reminds me of the original, but you added your own style to it. This is what a true cover should accomplish: First, rope people into the music by sounding familiar, yet mysterious; second part is to pour all of your heart and soul into something that, while it didn't start as yours in the beginning, you made it into your own piece. I love this, and I think this is quite possibly THE best cover of any Metroid theme I've ever heard.
I know it's been awhile since anyone wrote a review on this, but I felt I had to make myself heard. It's just that great a track!
A good problem to have...
The problem you face is how to improve on a track that was already one of the most awesome game songs ever in its original form. Did you actually improve on it? I'm not sure. Heck, I don't know if it's possible to improve on it. That's not to say it's not excellent; it definitely does the original justice, with visions of Spore Spawn and Super Missiles dancing in my head through the whole thing.
So what if you didn't make any huge changes to the song? Sometimes a cover is actually a better option (but to say that this is "just" a cover is like saying that the Pacific Ocean is "just" a body of water).
everybody loves the oldschool *Super Metroid* but instead of just mixing or recreating one song, why not try and mix them all
And then just make one huge megamix
OMG, that has to be one of the best Brinstar midi's EVER!
But really, its not bad.
Sorry not a fan of this.
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
