October 2022 Reid ( @mcbinkles ) and Ian ( @croody ) and I rented a cabin on airbnb for 4 days and recorded a bunch of songs. Reid and I were dyingly ill for a few of those days, and some other stuff happened like Ian's truck breaking down shortly after we got there, but in spite of various setbacks we got enough stuff recorded to put out a little EP of our cabin songs, eventually. I accidentally wrote this one while waiting around for Reid to get off the phone with his girlfriend, I think we were about to record some other song. It has words, but there's some neat sound FX that get a little buried in the full version, so for posterity, here's my original instrumental. Reid added some cool solo-y stuff to the arrangement too, which isn't present here.

here's a funny story: all of the electric guitar on the album was recorded by putting a zoom recorder up to an amp. When we went to record a good version of the song, we couldn't figure out how to get the guitar tone to sound as good as in our rough version, and after maybe an hour of twiddling knobs, getting frustrated, and almost giving up, we figured out the mic was rotated like 30 degrees and somehow that made all the difference in making the guitar sound good.
