OMG I wish I could use this in Geometry Dash. I love that energy

My first full original song with vocals and lyrics I have posted online. Go, me!
This is an interesting one, as I had the chord progression down for a while but couldn't figure out what I wanted the lyrics to be. The opening lines are in reference to how I have been trying to put out a song for two years but was never able to flesh out an idea to the point of it being releasable. Think For Yourself is the product of me forcing myself to not work on anything else musical until it was done.
The second verse with "whirlwinds" and "sirens calling" is talking about the political turmoil in the USA at the moment. You don't need me to tell you that it's a complete mess, but as a Canadian, my biggest concerns are born out of fear for the good people living there, including people I know and care deeply about. When I attempt to pull them out of the whirlwind, so to speak, I often find myself dragged into it as well, my mental health being further effected by the chaos. Not to say I wouldn't attempt it again, but you get the point.
Finally, the last chorus and outro are vents towards people who think the problems with the world will work themselves out and that there's no point in even trying to do anything about it. I won't insist that you need to devote your life to protesting, but when you can do little things that make the world a better place, just do them. Don't convince yourself that "nothing matters anyway" because, for one, you'll depress yourself, but you'll also be contributing to the number of people who could be making tiny changes but don't. If everyone did a little it would add up to a lot, so just do your part, that's all anyone should ask of you.

Lyrics
[VERSE 1]
I
I think it’s time we get to talking
I think it’s time I pick myself up
And start walking
Instead of just crawling
You
I think you came here for a reason
I think you came to find the what
The why, the where, the who
Well, I’m not gonna tell you
[CHORUS 1]
Everybody hollers: “Choose for yourself!”
But nobody enforces critical thinking
Everybody says: “You should fend for yourself!”
But no one gives you the means to prevent you from sinking
Artists talk about their dreams and a vision
When they’ve never even had to make a life decision
A speech from someone like me is no lesson
But if I sing it to the beat of my soap box, you’ll listen
[VERSE 2]
I
I can’t ignore the sirens calling
They may be far below but
Even still, I feel ill as
Into them I’m falling
You
Trapped in the middle of a whirlwind
I try to pull you out but
Slip and lose my grip
As our worlds begin to spin
[CHORUS 2]
If you’re honestly convinced it’ll work itself out
I’ve got news for you: you’re just making it worse
You can call my words useless, in vein, without meaning
While the ones that you love take a ride in a hearse
I can yell, I can scream ‘til my lungs fill with blood
‘Cause no matter how loud, one voice ain’t enough
To make a mark on tomorrow, make the best of today
But if worst comes to worst, I can always say
[BRIDGE]
I tried
I tried
I tried
To say my piece
I’ll try
To bring
You home to me
I tried
I tried
To say my piece
I’ll try
To bring
You home to me

Please bring the vocals higher up in the mix. Thats my only complaint. Everything else is the standard formulae for punk.
Yeah, I was very self-conscious about my voice when I recorded this, hence the low mixed vocals. Hope you enjoyed it otherwise!
I LOVE this song! And, I’d just like to ask, may I use this in a custom geometry dash level? I’ve been looking to make one with lyrics for a while now, and this is honestly perfect! But, I’ll only do it with your permission, of course
Of course!
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
