Holy hell! I have actually never spent so long on a single project before, and I have especially never finished any project as ambitious as this before. But now I finally finished it!

This project started all the way back in August, when I was trying to go for some Electro House kind of project. I was initially very quick to produce stuff, and eventually began to do serious tweaking work with the priceless help of my musical partner and mentor, @macjbeats (go follow him on Spotify!), who sped up the whole process in a way no one else could have possibly done. However, after I completed the intro, verse, buildup and 1st drop, all production work halted for about 2-3 weeks because of school coming back into equation.

Only around 2 weeks ago was I able to gain motivation to get back into the project, and OH BOY how much I've managed to do with this in the end! I never thought I could finish something this big before, but I guess I simply got carried away by the inspirations I got by simply spending more time finding music that sounded... new. I have to point out how crucial it was for me to just listen to amazing artists such as Astronaut, Virtual Riot or Madeon throughout the production of this track (and the list goes on and on). Without all these ideas, I could have never completed this behemoth of a project.

Last fun fact about this track: it is technically the first song where you get to hear my beautiful voice! (I say technically because I don't want to count ye olden tracks in 2017 with my voice in them.) It's at the outro, but it mixes so seamlessly with the rest you can barely hear it unless you try.

Anyways, I will just shut up now. I really hope you enjoy this track!

where have you disappeared to? You've been gone for 3 months

EspyoNG responds:

I haven't really disappeared, I have just been taking things a little slower lately. I have some crazy plan that I can't really reveal right now. Just now I have been working hard on some new song ideas, so I will definitely come back!

HOT DAMN!

This might as well be one of my favorite tracks made by you so far! I'm honestly loving everything I'm hearing. I could absolutely see this track being uploaded to Monstercat without any problem!

The chords, melodies and synths here are all really good. You absolutely nailed it with this one man.

I am a sucker for minor chords usually, so this really hit the spot. Keep it up!

Quick edit: this honestly deserved to be frontpaged!

EspyoNG responds:

I knew you would like this one! >:D

Monstercat??? Jesus, I really appreciate the compliment. Maybe one day when I figure out this whole record label thing I might send this through, who knows?

You have no clue I spent on making all these chords work and making the arrangement smooth. It was an actual struggle of mine that almost ended up killing the project haha

Bro minor keys are goated! 💯💪💯

Casually lurking on my NG feed I came across this banger. I'm totally digging this electro-house and dubstep mix for the morning routines.
Very nice get-to-the-point structure and interesting choice of leads and other synths, my favourite was that kind of c64 sound (2:37).
So, is this how it feels when you have the motivation to finish your works?... I should learn a lot from that, lol.

EspyoNG responds:

Haha, so glad you still follow me and find my stuff every once in a while!

I am really glad you enjoyed the structure. I don't really mention this here on Newgrounds a whole lot, but to me the biggest issue has always been trying to arrange a song in an interesting way, so I am very happy to hear you liked that characteristic of my song.

To be honest, I have come to the realisation that finishing a track with motivation is a half-myth of sorts. Sadly, not every track you made will be finished before you get bored and want to stop making it. All you can do is speed up and push yourself really. My sole motivation to finish Joyride was that it was going to be my best track ever by a long shot. That doesn't happen often! Hopefully you understand my perspective here.

Again, thank you for the review! So glad to see you are still around here like an OG!

P.s. That c64 sound was a sorta colour bassy sound I made with some FM sample I found from one of my samples packs. Sometimes opening FL and just designing some sounds can really help with music making!

Nothing can explain how good this is. It is just incredible. Not even god could tell you how good this really is.

EspyoNG responds:

Oh my god, I am so happy to hear that, thank you so much! :D

This is just too good! The growls are awesome in the drops, but the emotional parts are beautiful! This is just one of your best, and every second of work you put into this project is shown by the quality of this song.
Also, you’re prowess with Serum is legendary, I can’t believe you did all of this with that one plug-in. I’ll definitely have to look into it when I snag FL.

UPD: Yeah I definitely do that, just listen to my old tracks where I had a different style like “how did I do that?”
Jesus gave us salvation from our sins. Serum gave us FREAKING AWESOME MUSIC. But, correct me if I’m wrong but, according to my calculations, didn’t the inventing of pizza happen before the creation of Serum? Checkmate, your move XD

EspyoNG responds:

Haha, thank you so much! I have personally been spending this whole week just listening to my own track in disbelief. I personally believe this is my best project, or at least one of my best too, and to be honest I am so thankful to have been able to finish it with this result.

For clarification, all instruments and some FX were made with Serum. The drums and most of the FX going on in the background are NOT made with Serum. Regardless, I am glad you regard me as a skilled sound designer, although I did use some presets in the making of this here and there.

Serum is probably the best thing to happen to humanity since Jesus Christ. Prove me wrong ;)

EDIT (10/21/2023): PIZZA IS GOD, AND GOD IS PIZZA
