After having reformatted my local harddrive and pluged my external one back in I started Cubase SX and found that the precious export function, which had been out of order for quite some time actually wroks again.

So now I have quite a few songs to upload, and here's the first: another version of Jenova, hope you like it!

BTW I wasn't really sure about the genre so I put it here, correct me if I'm wrong!

Edited 07/04/2008

-I raised the volume
-I equalized it to power up bass
-I added an extra bassdrum since I thought the original was a bit weak
-changed some hihat things at a place in the middle
-the rest of the hihat annoyances remains
-Changed genre to video game

hmm. its a bit...."meh"

well its pretty good, very acurate but it just sounds....weak....

Nermio responds:

hmm... well maybe you'll enjoy it a bit better now, as I've made some changes like powering up the bass, adding a new bassdrum and raising the volume..?

Thanks for your review, and I hope you can like it at least some better now!

The genre should be Video game. I don't know why that first guy gave you 3. WTF it's not hard to turn up your volume. That's not worth a deduction of 7 points.

I liked this in general, but those seemingly eternal hi-hats in the background were annoying after a while.

Thanks! I know the hihats got a bit too much but I'm just too lazy to do anything about it

I have to say that I enjoyed this song as much as I did fighting the different Jenova's in FF VII. I like how the song kept to the original well, and still gave you the room to make the song more unique to yourself and your style. All in all the song was very well done, but there were a few problems that I noticed.

--->Good Points<---
In general the song was very well done, and despite being a commonly remade song, you managed to show your own unique and specialized style of the song which makes it something worth listening to a multiple of times.

-Style- 7/10: Because the song is so commonly remixed, I cannot give this higher than a seven in style. The reason I gave it a seven is because you made this version of the song your own unique version and an enjoyable one at that. I like the instrument set that you used, very soothing choices, but still able to get the adrenaline flowing while listening to it.
- Flow- 8/10: The Flow of the song was very smooth. It didn't hiccup or lag at any point during the song, and the transitions were good. I enjoyed the variety that was used throughout the song.
-Sound- 8/10: It was somewhat quieter than I would have hoped, but the song was still loud enough that I could enjoy it thoroughly. The instruments didn't overpower each other, and were balanced well throughout the entirety of the song so well, that no matter what was playing I could still hear the base background music and theme of the song.
-Enjoyability- 10/10: Overall, I enjoyed listening to the song multiple times and it made me smile at the fond memories it brought back from Final Fantasy VII.

--->Down Sides<---
1: The volume was rather low, because with it set to max on the player on NG, it was still rather distant, but wasn't impossible to hear or enjoy.
2: The intro to the song is sort of slow, and with the lack of the main theme early on, you could lose the interest of some of the listeners, because the main theme doesn't start till about :40 seconds into the song. I didn't mind the wait, but some of the less patient people on the internet might and could pull from the overall score of your piece.

All in all this is a very well done song despite being somewhat overdone when it comes to remixes. Nevertheless it was still unique and enjoyable for me, and earned a spot on my play lists. I have downloaded this song, and give it a 5/5 rating and 8/10 stars.

Nermio responds:

I know the volume is not at a preferable level, however, the peak level was normalized to 100 with the convertion software. I guess it's just to turn up the speaker volume... (Still, all thanks to the new NG site layout and functions I do have the chance to update with a louder version, just hang out and it may come!)

Thanks for reviewing!

Hey man.

The master volume was way too low! You need to turn it up by a lot so people will enjoy the song better.

Nermio responds:

If the volume had been my only problem with someones music but I'd like it overall I'd maybe at least give it an 8 for good music and put the volume problem in a paranthesis.

Really I don't demand high votes, but such a minor problem wouldn't seem enough to rack down on it as much as you do, especially not when you do not mention any other problems.

Alright, I will raise the volume, but so could anyone with an audio software have done.

Anyway, it's not that I'm mad or anything, so thanks for your review!
