Ok woah this one is definitely an awesome skill showcase. This SLAPS!
Every aspect of this song hits just right and the different elements just keep the thing interesting the whole way through. Never gets too repetitive.
Solid.

What is remorse when you have nothing to be sorry for?
So... this was a thing. Remorse has been a piece in the works since mid-2022. I was going to try and do a progressive metalcore concept album, which sadly fairly due to my being way too ambitious. But a number of songs that were going to be on that album have stuck with me, including this one. It's been one of my warmup pieces and one I just like to return to every once in a while just because it grooves so damn much! I've always been super proud of this piece in general!
This song was my first attempt at something more technical rather than a melodic epic like I've done a million times, and it came out so freaking sludgy! I seem to be pretty good at weird rhythms now, which is great, since that meant making the drum groove was not only a sinch, but super fun! It just grooves so hard, I swear! Even the chorus and its 15/16 over 4/4 rhythm grooves well. That's a word I keep on coming back to, but groove is a great descriptor of this song!
A lot of Periphery inspiration, obviously! A lot of the structural ideas come from Make Total Destroy... in fact pretty much all of them do. So much of this was inspired by Make Total Destroy, but I think it's still able to stand on its own! Even regardless of the Periphery inspiration, I think this song is just so sick!

Heck yeah! That's great to hear! Even the sections that are similar to each other, I tried to add a new aspect to it, or an adjustment to keep it interesting. Thank you so much!
This was unironically good, nice one!
