Hello judges of AIM,
This piece was composed entirely by me, using instruments and samples I own or am allowed to use. I am aware that a melody in my song might sound familiar, as it resembles a well known melody from the Harry Potter series' soundtrack. I believe it is alright however, because they use different time signatures and aren't the same; parts of it only follow the same melodic idea. I did not intend to copy or resemble anything when I wrote this.
This is the art I based my piece off of, "Rainy Night" by AuroraPLZ.

Thank you.

Hello lovely people of Newgrounds!
Thank you so much for the frontpage!
This piece is being submitted to the AIM contest, and I chose a really pretty artwork to base it off of, so I wanted to make it special... Musical storytelling time!
This piece tells the story of someone wandering aimlessly through a forest, when they are caught up in something beyond themselves.
The smells and sounds of rain and forest creatures draw them into a relaxed, thoughtful mindscape. All is good, and they can enjoy their blissful moment.
After a while, their floating spirits begin to wane somewhat, until they realize they are lost... lost among the trees, clouds, rain, rocks, water, and creatures that don't seem to be trying to calm them anymore. A sense of panic manifests, as the trees and vines seem to be leaning and reaching for them. The forest itself seems to bend and contort, as if it were pointing a hundred invisible eyes at them.
Just as claustrophobia begins to set in, the clouds recede and the full moon is allowed to glow upon the forest, keeping whatever darkness was trying to pull you in at bay. It illuminates a clearing for the person to escape to safety and return the safety and happiness they felt before.
Soon enough, the forest begins to loom over them again as if the darkness wasn't slain, just made dormant. Panic boils in them once more, just in time for the moon to pierce the clouds again.
The gloom is kept at bay, but this time, it appears the forest is fighting back against the dim incantation of the moon. The forest's soul, blackened with malice, pushes against the light with all its strength.
Just as a sense of uncertainty arises, the evil of the forest is sealed away with a resonating boom, and the battle is over. As the person stands up shaking, they see the ground and sky have returned to peace and quiet, like before, as the artwork depicts.
