I think you have a lot of great ideas here, and a wonderful ambience with that pad. I would take your hihats down very slightly in the mix and actually cut a bit of sub off of your bass -- boost the mids and overdrive it a bit, however you would like to achieve that whether with clipping or not.

Side-chain for kick and snare against the pads and bass would give a bit of more breath to the arrangement. A delay or reverb on the snare also. You can cut low mid frequencies and add some crunchy fx as well there.
