So, it’s a long story.

Confusion #1 - I was playing around on my piano and came up with the first chord of this song. The notes were: D, F, A, and Bb. Basically it was a D minor chord with an added 6th. I don’t know what kind of chord this is since it shares characteristics of both minor and major chords.

Confusion #2 - I started to come up with a baseline to go with the arpeggio at the beginning. I built the chord progression around this. The last chord, which, according to the key signature, would be minor, isn’t. It just didn’t sound as good as a major chord did. Cool, I accidentally used the harmonic minor scale. (Good job me!)

Confusion #3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9… - You may have noticed in listening to the drop that it is a little.. off-beat? Yea so I played around with the arpeggio and made a cool melody from it. I wrote it down so that I could come back to it later and not forget it. In doing so, I realized that I had just made a melody for 7/4. I don’t even know what’s happening at this point.

Confusion #whatever number this is - What genre is this?? I would say either dance or house or something along those lines, maybe techno. It doesn’t really have an characteristics of Dubstep or Drum n Bass or anything so.. yea, idk.
