from november 2022. was supposed to be something larger, better, but in an adhd haze i absolutely blazed through it and (1) i don't like it (2) it's too much to simply rework now. not a lick of eq on this thing. very salvageable, though

i'm primarily publishing this to ensure that i can't just be lazy and go with it, plus wanting to see how much better it becomes once it's truly done. furthermore: i don't want to leave anything unpublished
