Electronic - Drum N Bass

More hard IDM! Not the light, boring DnB that was The Punch-Drive, but a heavy, Pilch@rd style song which... uh, I dunno. Rocks. Or maybe not. That's for you to decide. :D
And I haven't forgotten about you styles-other-than-DnB lovers out there. My next song will (hopefully) be something different for a change. Maybe I'll go back to Industrial...
Anyways, enjoy! (And review.)
Oh, by the way, guess which DrumLoop I us... uh, nevermind.
(In case you were still wondering, the DrumLoop is called "idiocy".)

so you use preset drum loops? Well that's rather disappointing..

eh this is getting too much into actual DnB which I despise. To much noise - but I do like the arpy sounds in the background and the warm synth in the far bg and the way that everything turns acidy - but dude - this is loud and i have it turned DOWN - you're going to fucking make people go deaf - and that's seriously not cool.

i'm done with this.

blackduckie responds:

Aha, I don't know why this was so popular; I think it was the synth. Vocoders are so weird. =/

I didn't use drumloops that came with the program, by the way. They were on a sample CD and I put a few effects on. The one I used was totally not made for this style of music, but it seems I was happy with how it came out.

I think it's more IDM than actual Drum 'N' Bass, but I hate how most of the time all you can hear of the drums are high pitched crackling noises. I *really* made everything too loud, especially the second bass. Sorry!

Maybe I'll reuse the cool arp in a later song it's more suited to. It's better than the rest of this by far. =/

Great Job

great job wish I could make this good music

blackduckie responds:

All it takes is practise!

I started submitting to Newgrounds really early in my musical learning curve; I'd only made five more projects I actually considered "songs" before making Citric Corrosion, so you can see I've come a long way.

I love the title lol.
Im not really a DnB 'lover' or anything, but i thought this was pretty awesome.
Nice work, keep it up.

blackduckie responds:

I'm guessing I got so many reviews to begin with because the title was so eye-catching, lol. Yeah, this isn't really your typical DnB song, the drums seem to be a lot more high-end now that I listen to it, and it's a lot more out of time in terms of the actual drum patterns, but I'm getting into a more structured style now. Thanks for reviewing, I'm glad you liked it.

Holy shit!

I've never heard Hardcore DNB! haha. This is amazing! I'm really liking the dark feel of this song!
Everything seems to come together in a really beautiful way, great job!
Keep em coming!

PS: Check out my latest song "Making Me High!"

blackduckie responds:

I can't really imagine non-hardcore DnB, actually, but I'm glad you liked it. I think the dark feel mostly came from the evil-sounding pad playing throughout, (which for some reason sounds an octave higher on some speakers), but other things definitely contributed to it as well. The weird bass sound came mostly from the vocoder that I put in (they are so unpredictable) and the drums were mostly inspired by Pilchard's IDM, particularly "Fear and Loathing", so go and check that out if you want. (
And I'll have a look at your music, though you've probably submitted a heap more tracks since you wrote that review, unless of course, you're moving at my pace. XD
