I started this with the Digitone cos I wanted to make some drum sounds from scratch and let that inform the grooves I'd write. I then sampled an 8 bar loop and a mix of one shots into Koala. Once I had all that, I put together 8, 4 bar loops, that I resampled as audio. I pretty much did the same process with the different chord sounds, Digitone, Koala, process resample. The bass was a bit different, I did that with a Korg NTS-1 with the bulk of the work being done by an oscillator by Tweeeeak if I remember correctly. Really good for huge sub with a warm top end that's still present. I ran that through the Digitone to add some chorus and width then same as the above from the koala step on. After the above assets were all built and chopped/arranged it then dumbed the stems into Reaper to track the vocals. This is the first time I've ever tried a more spoken delivery, it wasn't my plan but I had to track them when my Mrs was asleep, so that forced my hand. I'm fairy relieved with how they've come out and I'm quite intrigued to see what folk think. I tried to take on board the feedback from the last round with the mix. So I've gone for a cleaner sound that's wide and deep. Same plug-in set, just a bit less done to it surprisingly. Oh! And I forgot the scratching! I recorded the scratching last as a late addition, that section was intended to have the drums as the focal point, but it just needed something else after I'd listened back to it for a bit.

With the master I decided to treat NG as its own beast instead of treating it like a streaming service. As an aside we should establish a standard for NG, then everyone knows what they're aiming for, plus it would help the NG radio be more level across tracks.
