Если человек или предмет пригоден к использованию на абсолютно любой позиции в какой бы то ни было сфере деятельности, то его обычно называют универсальным. Универсальный человек способен выполнять несколько дел, а универсальный предмет может использоваться в любой момент и в нужном месте. Но даже универсальность предмета не говорит ещё о том, чтобы его можно было пихать куда только заблагорассудится.
