Slum Denizens - Groove Solution

Share

Author Comments

Influenced by Eurodance, this track was made using all vintage 80s/90s sound sources, including Korg EMX1, Korg TR Rack, Yamaha TX81Z and Roland JX8P. A Stereoping Synth Controller was used with the JX8P strings. Vocals recorded with Shure SM57 with Tonebeast TB12 preamp. The lyrics were written during Covid lockdowns so were looking forward to everyone being able to get together and dance again.

Lyrics:

It's happened once before

Dark skies overhead

All hope seems lost

A world full of fear and dread

Just then one ray of hope

Peeks through a cloud

Now's the time to come together

East and West, blue and red

I know your body's achin'

You just need to move

Come together on the dance floor

A beat designed to improve

I know your body's achin'

You just need to move

Come together on the dance floor

The solution is the groove

When the rain is fallin'

Temptation to the norm

Don't sacrifice your principles

Sunlight after the storm

A future for phorever people

Minds and bodies freed

Following passions

To create and perform

I know your body's achin'

You just need to move

Come together on the dance floor

A beat designed to improve

I know your body's achin'

You just need to move

Come together on the dance floor

The solution is the groove

Come on, fess up; you've kidnapped Sophie Ellis-Bextor, haven't you!

e-lusion responds:

Thanks! I wasn't familiar with her, but my wife, who sang on this song, knew the song she did with Armin van Buuren.

Moooooar!
