I was away for so long 'cause of this bastard of a song. Lots of experimenting.

Haha, obviously written in FL.

You might have been able to trick me into thinking otherwise if you didn't use that 3Xosc 303 sound ;) Everyone makes the synth, but it always sounds the same...

I like the drums, but the snare drum seems to strike my head in an awkward kind of way. Stands out in the mix really weird like. The piano would have been a nice addition, but it doesn't really seem like you follow the right key signature that you have the bassline going on (which sounds good, by the way). The piano took away the "serious ambience" that this track had.

Keep it easy buddy;

Spikrodd responds:

actually i did trick you...

that 303 is the cm303 from a computer music magazine. i have won! :D

the snare now that i look back on it should have at least had less of that hi frequency trebles (similar in range to hihats). I believe the only way to learn is to make m,istakes. i say this is a damn good one! i mean look at it! ... :D!

oh, also: congrats on 500 songs! you bastard you. xDDD

nice

I really like the distorted part. :D

mmm

acidness yummy. great mix of different synths and basses

oooh jungly beats and tripphopy rhodes... mmmmmmmmmmm

later.

Spikrodd responds:

Thanks! Record deal you say? hm... you might not want to count your chickens before they hatch because this is like only the first or second time i did something like this.

Ah well... im gonna work on my track for the November MAC.

great.

honestly, the first track of yours that i personally like.
It spunds a bit like K&D's works, which would be a major compliment and improvement.
One question though, it sounds like you took most of these sounds off dnb sample packs, but if it's not that, i'd give you major kudos and 10/10.
but i honestly dont believe that you would be able to produce all these sounds in under a week, and it sounds really as professional as it would when taken from sample CD'd.
I'm not being harsh here, I'm just wondering if these are YOUR sounds, and not some samples you put together.

Spikrodd responds:

THese happen to be my own samples. They have been distorted, reeverbed, overdriven, and a host of other effects. It took me around 4-5 days actually. The song was just gonna be a Jazz-Step piece, but i listened to Vault and got the idea of it switching from light to heavy.

Although the 303 effect and most of the jazz instruments were taken from a sample CD. the 303 is a VST i overdrived, reeverbed, delayed and distorted it. It took a good bit of experimentation to execute correctly. The drums itself took 2 days. The bass was the fastest thing to do. like 15 minutes actually. XD

I enjoyed making it, and im glad you enjoyed it as well.
