THIS IS NOT TECHNO

Man that's not techno, it's more industrial, really bad industrial. You seem to never have heard techno! This "song" is full of many sounds, but only sounds, not real melodies, no harmony!
The people below me seem to enjoy random sounds with rhythm. It's like: "Oh I want to make a song, but I can't so I throw everything in and hope that it sounds good!" It's like to want, but not to can. "And because there are stupid people they will like the randomness and vote high for me!" Sorry to say buddy, but you should spend more time on composition, on the melody, on the harmony, on the developement, make something with sence!
Maybe you should listen to more music instead of making some, so you can learn something about it (try to make a few covers at first). Maybe I sound too hard for you but that's simply how I think about this song! Why do you submit random stuff?

myxibrium responds:

Hahaha! woah now buddy. I agree that this is not techno, but other than that you are COMPLETELY wrong. No melodies? no harmonies? hello? That's all this song is!

Throw random stuff together and 'hope' it sounds good? no. If it doesn't sound good I delete.

"Why do you submit random stuff?"

You know what your problem is? You're too conforming. That's right. If you listen to something that definately "sounds like techno" then you think it's good. If you hear something that "sounds like industrial" you think it's good. But the moment you hear something that doesn't conform you think, "oh that's terrible" and you completely close your mind to it. This, my friend, does not fit into any of your genres. My goal is not to make music that fits into a genre, my goal is to make music that breaks the boundries between genres. If you were to ask me what genre I though this was closest to, I would probably answer progressive rock, because of the rock-inspired drums, the odd time signature, and the dynamic melodies.

If this was a bunch of random sounds without structure, as you say it is, why did the three other reviewers vote 10? Because I paid them in sex? please. Dont listen to any more of my music with that kind of closed mind. In fact, dont listen to a majority of music in the world because chances are you'll think they dont have melody or structure. In fact, listen to only hiphop, techno, and industrial for the rest of your life because the simple beats and melodies are easy to understand. No need to overwork that brain of yours.

oh i like

this is really nice. i love the athmosphere. you might wanna experiment with distortion units (doesnt reason have a nice one..screamer? or so)

off topic: do you ever listen to protest the hero?

myxibrium responds:

Thanks! Ya I use the screamer quite often, but usually not very heavily. On this one I used screamer on the drums. I've been getting tired of a normal drum sound lately and I've been messing around with effects for the drums. Mostly just... distortion... but I might take it further in the future.

Nah. I listen to The Mars Volta, At The Drive-In, Mute Math, Muse, and quite a few other bands that aren't so popular. I'm pretty picky about music you see (or at least music that I listen to on a regular basis).

w00t 4 the agains

mix this with some heavt foreground music or like.. freakin super-fast crap and you gots a top 10 on this one

myxibrium responds:

I like really fast makes-you-wanna-dance-your-ass-off music. Songs like Roulette Dares and Take the Veil by The Mars Volta made me want to write this song, and I'm not done yet. I still want to explore this style a little more.

PS sorry your other two songs are taking so long. I'm waiting for a good idea to come to me.

Squarepusher style...

With that bass line and fast beat, it sounds quite like Squarepusher, until the song progresses, where it morphes into itself. Then it shares almost no resemblence. Actually, I have a glitch VST, which I'd love to stick this under...

myxibrium responds:

Squarepusher? So thats where you get your insane weirdness from. I just watched a video of them and I was like, what the hell?!??! haha.

Ya there was something about this song... whether it was the key or the chords I used or what but... the overall feel of the song seemed so foreign to me. idk.
