Very chill track, nice job!
I was told to write a game over theme since you gotta have consequences when you die right? I think this is the fastest piece I've written and deemed complete. It probably took me about 20 mins and it's pretty easy to see why.
It's just solo electric piano and it's just chords and a melody nothing too fancy. It's easy to fall into the mindset where "major key = happy or minor key = sad" I tend to do it myself sometimes so it's always nice to have something like this pop up every now and then. The chords are nothing fancy too since it's just typical circle of fifths with like 1 weird diminished chord and a IV > iv movement.
Game over screens tend to be very simple since (depending on the genre) it's not there to really make the player feel bad about losing or dying but to tell them "hey it's okay. try again, don't worry about it." Just having the solo electric piano playing something so simple is enough to give off that sentiment.
Sometimes simple is best and that's something I seem to forget every now and then because I get so caught up on adding stuff, development, melody structure, weirdo harmony etc. How I wish I could go back to the days where I would boot up my notation software and just write something with just the grand staff.
Very chill track, nice job!
