This is my second submission for the Art Inspired Music (2021) Edition.

Alright, for this song I chose the artwork of 9VoltWiseman and their piece "Saturated Skull"

The glow of the skull reminded me quite naturally of a rave, and while I made many attempts to capture the idea of being stuck in your head, or your skull being saturated by water and overflow-- ultimately I just made it pure and simple -- a bass heavy track written to give that deathly dominance. (Side note, I just now learned how to Sidechain so bear with me.)

Let me know what ya think. There is only one lyric to this one. Just one. And it only appears once. And what is that lyric you ask? Glad you asked. It's "Skull Fucked."

I like the ominous tone at the beginning. The percussion at :10 sounds a bit dry, and it might be advisable to smooth over the gritty, dissonant synths with some more reverb and other mixing effects. The beat itself is pretty catchy, and I like the climax into 1:02. The harmonic content is a little lack-luster, and there are also some rough transitions in here, like at 1:24. I also think you could've gotten a bit more creative with the arrangement - the piece gets pretty repetitive towards the end, and never really has an overarching sense of development. Some more melodic content might help you out in that regard. The ending is also pretty abrupt. Overall, I think my favorite element of the piece is the rhythmic content. The composition is a little lack-luster, but the bones of the piece are still there. Keep at it, DeadDropMedia! ^^

Mix is way too cluttered. Everything is peaking.

Look for different sample packs. The default FL snares are terrible.

Work on your rhythmic flow of the track. It’s fairly basic.
