As planned, we had a game about a police search dog, the task of which was to find missing tourists in a dark forest. The game is a several dark and meditative, so I wanted to write something like ambient from Ecco the Dolphin, only darker. At first I wanted to write this on a four-operator YM2612 (aka OPN2, Sega Genesis sound chip), but then I thought that our game was too pixelated, so I decided that YM3812 (aka OPL2, AdLib sound chip) would be a better option. I also added voices on top, I just really liked them and besides, they well emphasized the atmosphere, even if they somewhat distanced the melody from the original idea.
