So as a familiar, is he just summoned from the aether, or is there just tiny people living their life till a blood witch offers them a job?

I refuse to believe this man isn't the exact size of the little jello cup, the lighter, and the rest of the gang. I don't know whether they're all man sized or whether the janitor's jello cup sized but they're the same size.
