"Learndog and I travelling through a liminal space!"
Happy Pixel Day!
This harsh 3-bit palette is not too common, but was used especially in the early 80s. What is much more common is a 4-bit palette, allowing for an "intensity value" which is useful for shading in addition to dithering - maybe I'll try that next :)
This is not my usual pixel art style, but the restrictions were fun to play with! At first I was going to do 1-bit, but as I progressed, I felt the color gave it a nice sense of space, as crazy-bold as the colors are. I restricted myself further by allowing no two colors next to each other.
As for the art itself,
This is my sidekick Learndog and myself travelling through what appears to be some sort of splash screen for an educational program from the 80s. Learndog and I are a bit out of our element, but it appears we picked up new ways to communicate along the way.
I hope to continue exploring different palettes and styles. :D

Thanks again!
I actually don't know Russian - I just looked up the Russian equivalent of a really short greeting. It's basically just "yo!"
Awesome work man!
