Ichigo Kurosaki

Author Comments

Drawn over 2 days, 15-17 hours work put into this for a friend's birthday present. I'm no expert with anime or with backgrounds, this has been my first decent attempt in quite some time at doing either and I feel it did pay off.
Drawn in Paint Tool SAI and minor edits in PSE 7.0.

It is ot bad, I love ichigo!, the thing is, it did not really look like Ichigo, I suggest looking at some pictures of Ichigo and practicing. Because his hair flops out too much.

Zalariah responds:

As I said, it was the first time drawing anime in a awhile and the references I used were somewhat iffy, his hair being the hardest to pin. I was aiming for a soft appearance though, I had many people say he looked too happy with a smile, so dimmed it down to a subtle stare. I'd only watched a few episodes of Bleach myself, really. So I didn't have much of a feel for his personality to put into this piece. It was actually a rushed artwork, I became frigidity at the end trying to hastily finish it before my friends birthday. There's much more room for improvement outside of his appearance. Lighting was my main concern in all and perception of the environment around him.

Thanks for the honesty, criticism is helpful and you aren't the first to mention his hair either, I realized I didn't spike and fluff his hair up enough.
