Hey! To start this decade right, we believe Newgrounds should be ad-free for EVERYONE. For this to work, we need people who have the means to become paying supporters. For just $3 per month or $25 for the year, you can help this happen and get some nice perks!

For the month of February we have disabled ads on all E-M content. We need 215 people to reach our goal of 3,100 active supporters. If we hit that, we'll continue with a new goal in March!

Snowing AND sunny? Sure, why not?

So I overworked myself like a moron… I always like to preach about paying attention to yourself to prevent burnout, but alas, I end up forsaking my own advice more often than I should. Burnout creeps up on ya before you can realize it sometimes. Anyway, I’ve been tired these last few days. So I’ve been spending less time at my desk and more time with family, and cooking stuff (finally learned to make custard buns YESSS… maybe that should be in a video hmm…). Also rediscovered the magical thing called “naps”. Very nice. Would recommend.

I'm feeling pretty good now so I'm lookin' forward to finishing the first 'Study with Zacky' vid. Sorry it's been taking so long. I want it to be really helpful and resourceful so I've been putting a lot of research and stuff into it. Hope the wait will be worth it!

Anyhoo, I wish I had one of these little “nooks” by the window to chill at, they seem so awesome. Do y’all wish you had one these? (Unless you actually have one, in which case I’m officially jealous XD)

Take care of yourselves and create responsibly, people! XD

Very nice work!
I understand you pretty well... I used to make the same mistake as you: I preached others to pay attention to overworking and avoid burnout, but in the end I didn't follow my own advices. Now I've been able to change that situation, and I pay more attention... but I must keep the guard high: often, in the weekends, I look around my house to see if there are chores or little works to do, to fill my entire "resting" time.
Overworking can be a real pain in the ass, good thing that you managed to fight it! Keep it up!

Zaccura responds:

Ahh you hit the nail on the head haha. Good to hear you’ve got that “but I could be working…”part of your brain on a close watch XD
Thanks a bunch for your comment, glad you like the art! :D

Very nice atmosphere. I like how the colors are somewhat muted, yet really pop in an almost watercolor fashion. The loop, from what I can see, is seamless and very well done. I can totally relate to the aesthetic of this image, down to the anchor pillows and succulents. I don't exactly have a nook, but with some furniture adjustments, boom, I've got something close to a nook. I've definitely been cherishing these snowy days off from work as well. Been trying the napping thing, but unfortunately I tend to overdo it by several hours.. Anyway, keep up the good work! This really encompasses a dreamy atmosphere that is tied up neatly by the subtle details such as the shadows from the window and the shimmers of light. It'd definitely be cool to see more of these relaxing moving images.

Zaccura responds:

Haha, yeah the “waking up before it’s basically night time” part of a nap can be elusive sometimes… one of the reasons I only recently dared to re-try it. XD
I’m really glad you like the artwork, and that the loop is good. You’ve no idea how long I spent squinting at the frames to see if the snowflakes matched at the beginning and end lmao.
It was fun to play with animation so I’ll prolly give it a go some more in future illustrations.
Thanks for the comment! :D
