I think a common mistake when drawing females is to over define stuff in an attempt to make it look more realistic, but often times it makes them look old or even grotesque if done poorly. Yes, when she smiles she DOES have a super defined cheek fold thing going on but drawing it with hard black lines gives her almost an Joker like feel, shes got crows feet and two single inexplicable lines on her cheeks to denote depth perhaps in an attempt to make her look jolly. Her neck looks sunken in by the artist trying to define her neck, implied lines my friend you dont need to carve out the muscles, she isnt a super hero and she isnt dying of starvation either. Take a closer look next time and try to make her more feminine for a better likeness, not to mention a more appealing illustration.
