Here's my entry for this month's challenge. It was actually challenging since I don't really like inks on my piece. I thought about making it it a little painterly by removing the lines but where's the fun in that, right?

I use very muted colors since it is a loss. And it looks to me that the guy is grieving, regretting not being able to protect the one he loves, so a colorful palette isn't the best option for me since I reaaallly want to emphasize the sadness in this piece. I actually thought of making this just pure black and white but ended up coloring the whole thing. I tried my best to render things and give it a realistic look but it's just not possible for me considering the "boundaries".

I know some of you might recognize me for winning a challenge last year. But I just wanted to try again since the tablet I received has a defect and I couldn't send it back for repair since I was commissioned by a studio at that time. I've always wanted to try a screen tablet for a while now so yeah I'm here again :)

muted colors, the aura and the glow of the heart, it defines loss. Great job! :D

Thank you very much! :D

I like how you made the dim colors work so that the first thing that catches your eyes is the glowing/sparkling ghost! You depicted the sad and apocalyptic vibes very nicely! :)

Yenba responds:

I'm glad you got that :D
Thank you very much!

Really dig the muted color palette. Nice work.

Yenba responds:

Thank you so much! :D
