Baba Yaga

Author Comments

Spent some time on this one polishing it and getting it how I wanted. Though not sure if I can call it done, I'm happy with how it turned out :)
*Based off a classic Russian folk tale about a witch who lives in a house standing on massive chicken feet.

Pretty neat. :D

Wait a gosh darn diddly second... this looks nothing like John Wick! I call shenanigans.

Kidding aside, I'm incredibly familiar with russian folklore and myth thanks to Mika Mignola's Hellboy & B.P.R.D. works. Although I always thought Baba Yaga's chicken leg house only had like, one leg?

Anyway this is still a pretty great albeit creepy piece.

id sorta like to meet her with a guide who speaks old russian one day but maby not since i heard she eats men women baby flesh and can eat from you for days not painfull at all since she uses euphoric stuff to keep you from freeing yourself from the tentacles watch it up at scp wiki also this is great art

I need to break out quest for glory

That's a... pretty interesting house! A front suspiciously much like a face too, even if the legs seem to be facing the other way entirely... I like the brooding; murky mood, smooth and artful, I like the brushes of water in particular, so swift shapes it must have taken some effort to polish. And that it's based on an actual story, too! The mystery's blue and intriguing.

YakovlevArt responds:

The legs are odd. it's hard to show which way I want them to face, but it looked right to me when painting it. Now you got me confused looking at it like an optical illusion haha.
